Dr. McKay (David Hewlett, below) accepts an invitation to attend a demonstration of a device touted as the solution to global warming. Once there, he’s shocked by the brazen claims that the instrument can cool the earth by venting excess heat from our space and time into another — an idea he pursued two years earlier. But when the device is engaged and doesn’t stop after achieving the desired temperature, McKay must work fast before everyone freezes to death.
