NIGHTCRAWLERS
Thirsty and thankful
Pilgrims sure know how to party. Revelers who joined in Metromix’s Black Wednesday Pilgrimmage on Nov. 26 met at Lotties (1925 W. Cortland Ave. 773-489-0738) to don matching hats and shirts before hopping on trolleys to celebrate at The Pony, The Boundary, Soiree and others. The last stop of the night? Back to Lotties for a fitting feast of turkey legs. Check out more Pilgrimmage pics at metromix.com.

Random Acts of Greatness
things we’re loving this week
The melted Spanish blue cheese fondue with smoked onions ($7) at newish West Loop spot Province (161 N. Jefferson St. 312-669-9900).
Black pepper in a cocktail? You bet. The strawberry-citrus Aphrodite cocktail ($11) at La Madia (59 W. Grand Ave. 312-329-0400) is surprisingly warming thanks to a dusting of cracked black pepper.
The selection of toasty hats and fair-trade wool scarves at new North Center accessory shop Embellish (4161 N. Lincoln Ave. 773-525-4400).
A cold meat pie wasn’t the sort of homey food we had in mind when arriving at The Publican (837 W. Fulton Market. 312-733-9555) over the chilly Thanksgiving weekend, but we tried
the Pork Pie ($15) at the urging of
executive chef Paul Kahan and were
hooked at first bite.
The cozy corner fireplace at The Grafton (4530 N. Lincoln Ave. 773-271-9000). Thanks to plenty of couch space, we even managed to score a fireside spot on a Friday night. Log onto metromix.com to check out more fireplace bars.
