Stephen Colbert has declared war on Kanye West. In an attempt to take over the top album spot on iTunes currently occupied by Kanye’s “808s & Heartbreak” and drum up sales for his own Christmas album, the faux-news host launched “Operation Humble Kanye” on “The Colbert Report” Monday night. (Colbert’s “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All” is currently in 16th place.)

Colbert knocked Kanye’s recent declaration that he’s the voice of his generation saying, “with all the auto-tuning on your records you’re barely the voice of your own albums.”

“You want to be the voice of a generation — get in line,” Colbert continues. “It goes me, Obama Girl, the freecreditre port.com guys — then it’s a tie between you and Crocs.”

We eagerly await West’s all-caps blog rebuttal.
