Gregg Wooten earned game MVP honors with 15 points and five assists as Memphis Briarcrest Christian, which won Tennessee’s private-school state championship last season, edged Homewood-Flossmoor late Friday night at the Marshall County Hoop Fest in Benton, Ky. Brandon Hayes and Ladon Singleton scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Homewood-Flossmoor, which shot just 35 percent from the field and was 2-for-15 from three-point range. Briarcrest guard Leslie McDonald, a North Carolina signee, had 13 points and 10 rebounds, and George Mason-bound forward Johnnie Williams had 16 points and nine boards.
