*GOLF: Harrison Frazar shot a 59 in the fourth round of the PGA Tour qualifying tournament at LaQuinta, Calif., the first player in eight years to hit the magic number at Q-school. Frazar, winless in 300 starts during his PGA Tour career, had a 30 on the front nine of the Nicklaus Tournament Course at PGA West, then ran off seven consecutive birdies from the 11th hole. The last player to shoot 59 at Q-school was David Gossett in 2000, although he failed to earn his PGA Tour card. Frazar was at 24-under 264 and leading by four shots with only two rounds remaining. … Mathew Goggin birdied the final hole for a 3-under 69 and a one-stroke lead after the third round of the Australian PGA at Coolum. Goggin had a 12-under 204 total. Geoff Ogilvy (67) and Rod Pampling (68) were tied for second. … Henrik Stenson shot a 7-under 65 to extend his lead to eight shots after the third round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City, South Africa. Robert Karlsson shot 67 and trailed Stenson. … Larry Nelson brought a different son and wound up in a familiar spot as he and Drew Nelson put together an 11-under 61 to share the lead with Tom and David Kite in the Del Webb Father-Son Championship at Orlando. *COLLEGES: Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez said he expects defensive end Brandon Graham to return, defensive end Carson Butler to enter the NFL draft and running back Avery Horn to transfer. *SKIING: Aksel Lund Svindal won a World Cup super-G at Beaver Creek, Colo., a day after capturing the downhill title. Svindal completed the super-G in 1 minute 13.05 seconds, with Hermann Maier 0.45 seconds behind, a day before his 36th birthday. Michael Walchhofer was third. Ted Ligety tied for seventh and Bode Miller bounded up after sliding to the snow to finish 14th. … The women’s World Cup downhill at Lake Louise, Canada, was canceled because of heavy snow and shifting winds that caused poor visibility.
