‘PRETTY GOOD TEAM’: Vice President Dick Cheney calls President-elect Barack Obama’s national security lineup “a pretty good team.” In an ABC News interview, parts of which aired Tuesday, he added: while “I would not have hired” Hillary Clinton to be secretary of state, “I think she’s tough. She’s smart, she works very hard and she may turn out to be just what President Obama needs.”

NO THANKS: Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.) said Tuesday that he will stay in the House and pass on becoming U.S. trade representative in Obama’s administration. He said he decided to stay in the House to work on issues, including immigration.
