You can call 2008 a lot of things, but you definitely can’t call it dull.
As the year wound to a close, we hit the streets to ask people about their New Year’s resolutions. And we got the feeling folks might not mind — might even welcome — a little dull in 2009. No mountain-scaling, Iron-Man-completing, novel-penning ambitions here. Just hoping for a little peace and, dare we say it … prosperity.
In addition to eating healthier, working out more and giving up Diet Coke (the same resolutions I make EVERY year!), I am resolving to not use ANY plastic bags from the grocery store. I have enough of the reusable ones and just need to remember to take them into the store with me!

Connect two people every week who are doing interesting, like-minded, good things. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet so many great people through Pivot and I really love spreading those connections.

I love to travel, but want to take more quick weekend trips with the kids so that I can supplement their education on American History, geography, and other interesting subjects. I definitely need to cut back on the desserts, but man, that’s a tough one. I don’t know if I’ll be able to stick with that resolution unless I’m picked for “Survivor.” The only way I think I’ll ever be able to lose weight is to be placed on an island with no food. I will shop as much as possible at local owned businesses. I will drink more wine.
