At East Aurora: The host Tomcats (10-2) forced 25 turnovers en route to a 74-55 victory over Belvidere North for the title. Tournament MVP William Brown scored a game-high 18 points for East Aurora.
At Lemont: Deadre Owens scored 16 points and Jeff Allen 15 as Plainfield Central topped Providence-St. Mel 62-55 for the title. The Wildcats (8-3) led 51-50 with 52 seconds to play, but back-to-back technical fouls on the St. Mel coaching staff gave Allen four free-throw attempts. He made all four. Phil Jackson led the Knights (11-1) with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Girls
At Lincoln-Way East: No. 4 T.F. North (18-0) used a game-ending 17-6 run to defeat the tournament host 68-59 for the title. Junior guard Karisma Chapman scored 11 of her game-high 24 points during the decisive stretch, which started with her team trailing 53-51. No. 14 Lincoln-Way East fell to 11-2 despite 18 points from tournament MVP Kersten Magrum.
At Phoenix: Chanise Jenkins scored 16 points and had eight assists as No. 2 Young (16-1) defeated Oakland (Calif.) Bishop O’Dowd 55-38 for the Nike Tournament of Champions title. Ashlee Anderson had 11 points and Porsha Harris added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Dolphins.
