The 6-3 senior forward, who finished with 13 points, took the inbounds pass from Kendall Frank with 1.7 seconds to play and was fouled as he made the layup and time expired. Reggie Lemon’s 16 points led five Tigers in double figures. Colin Nickerson scored 22 points and Jereme Richmond 18 for Waukegan. … No. 12 Schaumburg defeated Peoria Manual 78-75 in the last quarterfinal and will face Plainfield North in the semis. Cully Payne scored 14 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, including five of six free throws in the final 1:09 to help secure the victory. Perrish Bell had 18 points and Josh Spandiary 17 for Schaumburg (12-0). Payne also had eight assists and two steals. … No. 20 Curie topped No. 13 Simeon 52-47 for its first victory over the three-time defending tournament champion Wolverines (3-6). Sophomore Wayne Blackshear led the way with 16 points and seven boards, while Dennis Hodges added 15 points and eight rebounds for Curie (7-2). At Tampa: Despite 21 points and 26 re- bounds from Jonathan Mills, No. 1 North Lawndale fell to Orlando Olympia 73-71 in overtime in the title game of the McDonald’s Hoops Classic. Jermaine Winfield scored 17 points and Terry Johnson 13 for the Phoenix (8-2).

At East Aurora: The host Tomcats (10-2) forced 25 turnovers en route to a 74-55 victory over Belvidere North for the title. Tournament MVP William Brown scored a game-high 18 points for East Aurora.

At Lemont: Deadre Owens scored 16 points and Jeff Allen 15 as Plainfield Central topped Providence-St. Mel 62-55 for the title. The Wildcats (8-3) led 51-50 with 52 seconds to play, but back-to-back technical fouls on the St. Mel coaching staff gave Allen four free-throw attempts. He made all four and Plainfield Central connected on 7 of 8 more foul shots down the stretch. Phil Jackson led the Knights (11-1) with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

At York: A last-second driving layup from senior Cameron Leavitt (game-high 13 points) lifted Conant (10-2) to a 33-32 overtime victory over No. 17 St. Ignatius (10-3) for the tournament championship.

Girls

At Lincoln-Way East: No. 4 T.F. North (18-0) used a game-ending 17-6 run to defeat the tournament host 68-59 for the title. Junior guard Karisma Chapman scored 11 of her game-high 24 points during the decisive stretch, which started with her team trailing 53-51. No. 14 Lincoln-Way East fell to 11-2 despite 18 points from tournament MVP Kersten Magrum.
