A Homer Glen landscaper who had traces of marijuana and Valium in his system when he caused a car crash that killed a 69-year-old Woodridge woman and seriously injured her husband was sentenced Wednesday to six months in DuPage County Jail after pleading guilty to aggravated drunken driving.

Thomas R. Heehler, 48, also was placed on 30 months’ probation.

Assistant State’s Atty. Joseph Ruggiero said that Heehler was under the influence of the drugs on April 5, 2006, when the pickup truck he was driving killed Shirley J. Borel.
