Some news is good, some is bad and some is just plain odd.

‘Stripper Idol’

“American Idol” wants a strip club in Austin, Texas, to take it off. FremantleMedia North America, which owns the popular TV show, has sued to stop the weekly “Stripper Idol” contest at Palazio Men’s Club. Advertisements for the stripping contest use a logo with a “color scheme, design and font” similar to that of the TV show. Waitresses at the club wear T-shirts emblazoned with the logo, according to the lawsuit.

Toilet dies

The man escaped with a few cuts to his arm, but the toilet made out much worse. Police say a man’s gun fell out of its holster while he pulled up his pants after using the bathroom at a Carl’s Jr. restaurant Tuesday in Centerville, Utah. The gun fired when it hit the floor and shattered the commode. The man, 26, had a concealed weapons permit. No charges are being filed.

Big bank error

A couple from Bloomsburg, Pa., is behind bars after police say they failed to call the bank when a glitch put an extra $175,000 in their account. Authorities say Randy and Melissa Pratt instead withdrew the money, quit their jobs and moved to Florida. They were buying a house when the mistake was traced. A $1,772.50 deposit showed up in their FNB Bank account last summer as $177,250.
