On an order of $50, for example, you can save at least $7 over what other sites charge on the shipping (this on top of competitive prices). What’s more, their customer service is so good, orders often arrive well before the promised date — sometimes even the next day.
*Convenience stores are supposed to be more expensive, right? At CVS locations, you’ll find gallons of Dean’s milk often selling for $2.99, well below what Jewel and Dominick’s charge. And every few weeks, the store’s national soup brands go on sale as “buy one, get one free” items. Stock up on that chicken stock, because winter’s just getting started.
*What would you rather pay for jeans your post-toddlers will quickly outgrow and abuse: $36 or $16.50? We thought so. Skip those faux designer shops and head to The Children’s Place (Hawthorn Center Mall in Vernon Hills, 847-680-9450; 39 S. State Street, 312-332-9111). The jeans have all the features kids need, including riveted front pockets and adjustable inside waist straps, for that sweet $16.50. Buy two pair, and the price goes down to $14 each.
