*NBA : The Jazz said Sunday that Jerry Sloan had agreed to a one-year contract extension that will mark his 22nd season in Utah. Details of the contract were unavailable. Sloan is the longest-tenured coach in NBA history after taking over for former coach Frank Layden on Dec. 9, 1988. Earlier this season, Sloan became the first NBA coach to win 1,000 games with one team. … Shawn Marion was held out of the Heat’s lineup Sunday night against Oklahoma City because of a strained left groin.

*NHL: Hall of Famer Glenn Anderson’s No. 9 Edmonton jersey was retired Sunday night before the Oilers faced Wayne Gretzky’s Coyotes. Anderson and Gretzky were teammates in their playing days. … The Blues said defenseman Roman Polak would be sidelined indefinitely after fracturing his right foot in Saturday’s game against the Blackhawks. … Sabres defenseman Teppo Numminen is out indefinitely after having surgery to repair a fractured bone in his face. Numminen was struck in the face Saturday by a second-period shot from Carolina defenseman Tom Gleason. He played eight more shifts but didn’t return for the third period. … Sidney Crosby was back in the lineup when the Penguins played host to the Rangers on Sunday. The Penguins’ star center was injured late in a loss to the Capitals on Wednesday, apparently hurting his left knee. He missed Friday’s game against the Ducks.

*FOOTBALL: Fired Rams coach Scott Linehan declined the 49ers’ offer to become their offensive coordinator, saying he wasn’t ready to commit to his next coaching move. … Former USC receiver Vidal Hazelton said he was transferring to Cincinnati and would play for the Bearcats in 2010.

*GOLF : Zach Johnson won the Sony Open in Honolulu for his second victory in his last six starts on the PGA Tour, shooting a 5-under 65 to beat Adam Scott and David Toms by two shots. Tadd Fujikawa, the 18-year-old from Honolulu trying to become the youngest winner in PGA Tour history, started the final round two shots out of the lead but struggled to a 73 and tied for 32nd. … Paul Casey shot a 2-under 70 to win the Abu Dhabi Championship by one stroke over Louis Oosthuizen and defending champion Martin Kaymer. Casey, who last won a tournament at the 2007 Abu Dhabi event, had three bogeys on the back nine to finish at 21-under 267. “I have missed winning for the last two years, so this one is very special,” Casey said.

*SWIMMING : Mary DeScenza was a double winner at the Long Beach Grand Prix, and Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte won the 200-yard freestyle and Matt Grevers won the 50 free. DeScenza won the 50 and 200 freestyles to go with her double wins Friday in the 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly, in which she set a short-course American record.

*SKIING : Manfred Pranger of Austria won a World Cup slalom race in Wengen, Switzerland, for his first victory in four years, while American Bode Miller lost control in the second run and did not finish. … American Lindsey Vonn finished third in a World Cup downhill in Zauchensee, Austria, good enough to regain the lead in the overall standings.
