A mental exam was ordered Tuesday for a Westmont man who allegedly stabbed his father to death because he believed his dad had given him counterfeit money to buy a soda. Rostyslav Demtsyo, 28, held without bond in the DuPage County Jail, is charged with first-degree murder in the Nov. 19 stabbing of his dad, Oleg, 53. A prosecutor said the defendant’s family believes Demtsyo has paranoid delusions.
