The owners of a home in Buffalo Grove were doing some remodeling when they discovered a surprise behind a drop-ceiling panel: a pistol, machete and medieval-style club.
The owners have lived in the house in the 900 block of Providence Lane for several years and had no idea who put the weapons there, police said.
At the homeowners’ request, the Police Department took the weapons and planned to destroy them.
