The interim head of the Illinois Toll Highway Authority is resigning from her post after less than two months on the job, officials said Wednesday
The agency will hold a special meeting on Friday to accept the resignation of Dawn Catuara, the agency’s former chief of staff.
Catuara took over as the Illinois tollway’s acting executive director in mid-December. She replaced Jeffrey Dailey, who resigned from the $189,000-per-year executive director position less than a month after taking the job.
The agency was under scrutiny following former Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s Dec. 9 arrest.
Blagojevich, who was impeached and last week voted out of office by the state Senate, is accused of pressuring an unidentified highway contractor to raise $500,000 for his campaign, according to a federal affidavit.
