What large vacant building in your community would you like to see renovated, and what would you suggest for the space?
Last week, in a follow-up to our article on the quest of Daniel Fore, a homeless man, to run for the Oak Park Village Board, we asked readers what they thought. Here’s a sampling of what you said:
“Lombard has a vacant building that has already been destroyed — the DuPage Theatre. I think that Lombard should build an arts and entertainment center on the empty lot where the theater once stood. Lombard owes its citizens some type of entertainment venue in town.”
— Carolyn Hogan, Lombard
THIS WEEK’S QUESTION
Granite counter tops, free towels and massage therapists are some of the luxuries offered at fitness centers run by local park districts. Do you think state-of-the-art workout centers fit the mission of a park district? If so, why? If not, are there programs or services you think your park district (or library district or village) should be offering that it doesn’t?
