Matt O’Connor threw four innings and gave up no earned runs, striking out nine for Northridge (1-0) while also going 3-for-5 with a triple.

Karon Kamal was the winning pitcher for Simeon, throwing four no-hit innings with four strikeouts. Freshman Blake Hickman was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs, and freshman Shane Brown was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Simeon (1-0).

Winning pitcher Jamie Manhard threw five innings for the win. Scott Kempel closed the game on the mound and hit a two-out, two-run triple.
