*In the Live! section on Monday, Bob Sirott’s name was misspelled in a promotional item about Recession Relief Week coverage that includes his interviews with Chicago Tribune editors on WGN-AM radio.
*An editorial Saturday about piracy included a typo that introduced an error in a reference to Abraham Lincoln’s Union blockade and the number of Confederate ships. The corrected sentence is: Five of six Confederate ships evaded the Union blockade Lincoln instituted in 1861, but those ships still had to work around the blockade, slowing them down.
*On Page 3 of Friday’s Near West Chicagoland Extra section, a headline that accompanied a photo of child-size pinatas on display at Dulcelandia Candyland misstated the location of Candyland, which is in Melrose Park.
*A column on Page 2 April 14 about what to name this decade incorrectly referred to “cement” hardening. The correct word is “concrete.” Cement is a component of concrete.
*A restaurant review in the Feb. 26 Play section incorrectly characterized the ethnic theme of the Fontana Grill & Wine Bar. It is Italian-Bosnian.
