AMERICAN LEAGUE

Twins 5, Indians 1: Justin Morneau homered and drove in a pair to back Nick Blackburn (seven innings, one run). The win snapped a four-game road skid for the Twins, who were outscored 31-5 in that stretch.

Rangers 5, Orioles 4: Michael Young hit a two-out, two-run homer in the ninth off George Sherrill, who had struck out Chris Davis with the bases loaded in the eighth and got the first two outs in the ninth.

Royals 6, Tigers 1: Zack Greinke’s streak of 38 consecutive scoreless innings dating to last year ended on an unearned run in the fifth, but he allowed just three hits and struck out 10 in a complete game.

Blue Jays 14, White Sox 0: Toronto had 21 hits off Gavin Floyd and two relievers. Five Jays had three, including Vernon Wells, who drove in two. Chris Getz, who had two of the Sox’s four hits, is batting .348.

Red Sox 5, Yankees 4: Kevin Youkilis hit a one-out, walk-off homer to left in the 11th off Damaso Marte to win it. Jason Bay’s two-out, two-run homer off Mariano Rivera in the ninth sent the game to extra innings.

Mariners at Angels: Seattle lefty Erik Bedard is off to a solid start (23 strikeouts in 19 1/3 innings, 1.86 ERA). Anaheim’s Shane Loux is making just his 10th start.

Rays at Athletics: Rays starter Scott Kazmir is 6-2 with a 2.70 ERA in 11 starts against the A’s, who are facing a lefty starter for the sixth consecutive game.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Marlins 7, Phillies 3: Shane Victorino’s first regular-season grand slam capped a seven-run ninth off Marlins closer Matt Lindstrom. Chase Utley followed Victorino’s blast with a HR before Lindstrom exited.

Mets 4, Nationals 3: The Mets’ Johan Santana struck out 10 in six innings and lowered his ERA to 0.70. Carlos Beltran got his 1,000th RBI on his 32nd birthday to help the Mets snap a four-game skid.

Brewers 5, Astros 2: Yovani Gallardo went the distance, yielding five hits with no walks, and five Brewers drove in a run. The Brewers scored four times in the fifth and Rickie Weeks homered in the seventh.

Braves 4, Reds 3: Jeff Francoeur’s solo homer was Atlanta’s only hit off Edinson Volquez, who walked seven in five innings. Javier Vazquez went six innings for the fourth straight time and struck out nine.

Cardinals 4, Cubs 3: Albert Pujols stole second and scored the go-ahead run in the eighth for the Cards, who won their eighth in a row at home. Alfonso Soriano batted third and extended his hit streak to 11.

Dodgers at Rockies: Colorado’s Aaron Cook, seeking his first win, struggled on Saturday at Dodger Stadium, giving up three homers in a four-inning start.

Giants at Diamondbacks: The Giants, 0-6 on the road, turn to NL Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum (13 strikeouts in eight innings Saturday) to end the skid.

Pirates at Padres: David Eckstein, in his first season with the Padres, is on a six-game hitting streak and has hit Pirates lefty starter Ian Snell at a .333 clip.
