Officials at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain arrested three teens for allegedly burning bags of popcorn in a microwave in a crowded dorm in the middle of the night, and then tying some doors shut so residents would think they were trapped in a burning building.

An office worker cleaning a fridge full of rotten food Tuesday created a smell so noxious that it sent seven co-workers to a hospital and made many others ill. When the AT&T building in San Jose, Calif., was evacuated, a hazmat team went in and found an unplugged fridge crammed with moldy food. But the worker who cleaned it out didn’t need treatment — she has allergies and can’t smell.
