Starting pitcher Paul Warble settled down after a giving up a two-run home run in the first inning, striking out seven and holding Barrington scoreless the rest of the way. Bobby Colucci was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, three steals and four runs for Conant (17-8, 9-4 Mid-Suburban West). Barrington fell to 15-10, 7-6.
Huntley 7, Johnsburg 1
Chris Klein threw a complete game for Huntley (23-4, 9-1 Fox Valley Fox), giving up five hits. Tanner Funke and Tom Crohan were each 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Stevenson 5, Crystal Lake Central 1
Stevenson improved to 24-5.
Softball
Elk Grove 2, Buffalo Grove 0
Pitchers Dani Goranson and Stephanie Maday combined to throw a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts for Elk Grove (25-2).
Nazareth 3, Carmel 2
Shannon Cawley was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs for Nazareth (11-13).

Joliet Catholic 2, Benet 1
Katie Condon and Mariah Grashoff scored for Joliet Catholic (17-2, 9-1), which clinched at least a share of its first-ever East Suburban Catholic title.

Kim Carroll hadd two goals and three assists and Ashley Begrowicz had three goals for Mundelein (11-8, 3-2-1 North Suburban).

Stephen Carrington had 14 kills and 12 digs for Glenbrook North (26-4, 7-0). Emmett O’Keefe had eight kills, and Stefan Vandegraff had 16 assists.

Tom Hannum had 13 kills for Libertyville (13-8).
