A.J. Newfeld was 4-for-5 with three RBIs, including the game-winner for Lincoln-Way North. Eric Wilson (nine strikeouts) and Matt Trsch (one hit, eight strikeouts) each pitched five innings for the Phoenix.

Steve Zimmerman went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs for Maine West (21-7).

John Nasshan was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and Tommy Endres was 1-for-2 with a three-run home run, two runs and a steal for Niles West (26-6, 13-3 Central Suburban South).

Jeff Paulson and Travis Hawks were both 2-for-3 with three RBIs for North (25-5, 20-0 Southwest Prairie).

Matt Trowbridge hit a two-run home run and Mike Morrissette had two hits, including a triple, and two RBIs for Providence (17-13, 6-8 Chicago Catholic League).

Tony Gaffino was 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs and Cory Walden was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs for West Aurora (11-20, 6-15).

Wheaton North (24-4, 17-4) earned its second consecutive DuPage Valley Conference title and clinched its first outright conference title in 29 years. Trey Martin (3-for-4, double, RBI), Mike Small (2-for-5, home run, four RBIs) and Jeff Schalk (2-for-3, double, three RBIs) led the Falcons. Mike Caduto was the winning pitcher. Taylor Rhoades (4-for-4, home run, double, three RBIs) led Wheaton Warrenville South (17-13, 11-10).
