Julian Sipiora struck out eight to win Game 1 and was 4-for-6 on the day with two RBIs for Viator (18-15).

Brie Pasquale went 2-for-4 including a two-run homer to pick up the win for St. Francis (23-6).

Sandburg’s Brittany Gardner (16-7) outdueled Illiana Christian’s Jocelyn Oppenhuis in one of the best pitching matchups of the season Friday evening. Gardner struck out 11 while throwing a two-hitter, and Kelly Sheridan won the game on a walk-off home run. Illiana starter Jocelyn Oppenhuis had given up just one hit before the walk-off. Sandburg (23-9).

Ashley Yaros found success from the circle tossing three and two-thirds innings, striking out six. She also went 2-for-5 with an RBI for Stagg (21-11).
