Do-Division Street Fest and Sidewalk Sale

When: Noon-10 p.m. Saturday-Sunday

Where: Division Street between Ashland Avenue and Leavitt Street

Get there: No. 50 Damen Avenue bus; Division Blue Line “L” stop

The basics: An abundance of hip boutiques, bars and restaurants along this 10-block strip of Division Street throw a PBR-spiked bash and massive sidewalk sale for the third year running. At Damen Avenue and Division Street, main-stage talent — cherry picked by Empty Bottle Presents — includes DJ duo Flosstradamus and Metromix Rock ‘n’ Vote 2008 finalists JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound (Saturday) and indie rockers Menomena and White Rabbits (Sunday). DJs hit the decks at the Wicker Hand Car Wash (2123 W. Division St.) both afternoons for the second annual Bass, Bubbles and Beats party: Dance to Uncle Milty, DJ Inphiniti and Ben Castanadal (Saturday) and Lee Michaels, Dino G and Victor R (Sunday). 312-850-9390.

– Belmont/Sheffield Music Festival

The popular street party turns 25, which means it could be older than a good chunk of its biggest fans. Hear party bands Elevation and Trippin Billies (Saturday) and Rock Candy and Sixteen Candles (Sunday), among others. – Chicago Turkish Festival

Underway since Wednesday, this seventh annual cultural fest showcases Turkish food, traditional dancing and music (noon-2 p.m.), plus fashions, souvenirs, exhibits, fine art and travel information. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Daley Plaza, 50 W. Washington St. 312-933-4635.

– Mayfest Chicago

Also spelled Maifest, this German fest turns 10 in Lincoln Square with oompah music, maypole dancing, steins of beer and plenty of hearty fare. Don’t miss the opening ceremony Friday (8 p.m.) with a traditional keg tapping and the crowning of the May Queen. 5-11 p.m. Friday; noon-11 p.m. Saturday; noon-10 p.m. Sunday.
