NBC on Monday debuted its new reality program, “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” In case you haven’t heard, the show sends somewhat famous folks — including Illinois’ own Patti Blagojevich — to the wilderness of Costa Rica to see how long they can fend off voter elimination and/or reality TV fatigue. In the spirit of the show’s departure-focused premise, here’s a list of the newsmakers who made exits this week.
Cubs Gatorade cooler
The Cubs are getting rid of their short-lived, much-maligned dugout Gatorade dispenser. When the team returns home Friday, the battered Gatorade machine in the dugout will be replaced by the traditional water dispenser that was there before.
Derrick Rose allegations?
The University of Memphis says it cannot find sufficient proof Derrick Rose cheated on his college entrance exam. On Tuesday, Memphis’ response to NCAA allegations of test-score malfeasance by the Bulls star became public through open records requests from multiple Tennessee media outlets.
Some parking tickets
The city has put its parking ticket crews in overdrive, issuing citations at a faster clip than last year, but a Tribune analysis of court records this week showed that the vast majority of tickets contested by motorists are thrown out.
