Two churches on Aurora’s near southeast side were victimized by burglars recently, according to police.
Sometime between 9 p.m. June 1 and 8 a.m. June 2 someone stole a stainless steel barbecue grill worth $400 from the Our Lady of Good Counsel convent in the 600 block of Talma Street, police said in a news release.
Then between 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. June 3, someone stole religious artifacts and wine from a room adjoining the Our Lady of Good Counsel church in the 600 block of 5th Street. The loss in the second incident was listed as $7.
Between 3 p.m. June 2 and 3:30 p.m. June 3, someone took a lawn mower valued at $200 from a shed on the property of St. John’s United Church of Christ in the 300 block of 5th Street.
