‘Penn & Teller’

The comedic-magician duo doesn’t play by the rules in exposing a number of controversial topics, from scams and superstitions to myths and miracles. Each half-hour episode mixes the attempted exposes with some of the humor for which Penn & Teller (left and right in photo) are famous. This season, they’ll tackle lie detectors, organic food and more.
‘Burn Notice’

Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) tries to deal with one of the city’s most wanted criminals on his own in an attempt to get the police off his back; Sam (Bruce Campbell) must contend with an IRS agent who turns out to be the son of an ex-flame.
‘The Fashion Show’
9 p.m., Bravo
Isaac Mizrahi, Kelly Rowland and Laura Brown of Harper’s Bazaar test the contestants on their knowledge of fashion icons and their work. Then the contestants are challenged to create a complete look that is inspired by a signature piece from such designers as Dior, Halston and Balenciaga. Peter Som is guest judge.
‘The Listener’

After Toby (Craig Olejnik) saves a troubled boy from a brutal gang beating, he stumbles upon a hidden group of runaways and must draw on his own devastating personal secret to save these youths. Ennis Esmer, Lisa Marcos, Mylene Dinh-Robic and Anthony Lemke also star.
‘La Strada’
7 p.m., TCM
An Academy Award winner as best foreign language film in 1957, Federico Fellini’s moving drama follows the hard-knock lives of traveling carnival performers, including Gelsomina (Giulietta Masina, right), a girl sold by her mother to the troupe; strongman Zampano (Anthony Quinn); and The Fool (Richard Basehart), an acrobat and clown. Aldo Sivani and Marcella Rovere also star.
