White Sox 4, Royals 1: Mark Buehrle gave up six hits in 8 1/3 innings, losing his shutout in the ninth, as the White Sox won their sixth straight.
Angels 5, Orioles 2: Bobby Abreu hit two home runs in the 14th multihomer game of his career, his first as an Angel, and John Lackey pitched eight solid innings.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Reds 3, Diamondbacks 2: Joey Votto singled with the bases loaded and two outs in the 10th inning as Cincinnati sent Arizona to its 10th loss in 12 games.
Mets 9, Pirates 8: Ryan Church singled in the go-ahead run in the 10th. The Mets came back from a 5-0 deficit, the biggest they’ve overcome for a win this season.
Cubs 9, Brewers 5: Derrek Lee hit his 10th career grand slam and a three-run homer for a career-high seven RBIs. Jake Fox and Geovany Soto added solo shots.
Astros 7, Padres 2: Geoff Blum hit a three-run homer and had four RBIs for Houston, which won three of four against San Diego and outscored the Padres 20-7.
Cardinals 5, Giants 2: Todd Wellemeyer allowed two runs in 7 1/3 innings as the Cardinals won for just the third time in nine games.
Braves 5, Phillies 2: Matt Diaz drove in the go-ahead run with an eighth-inning double and the Braves completed a home sweep of the Phillies.
