The Eagles’ “Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975” has spent almost a decade as the official U.S. top-selling album of all time, but its sales superiority is being challenged by — you guessed it — Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Billboard reports that the surge in sales since the pop icon’s death has Jackson’s 1982 blockbuster, previously certified 28 times platinum (28 million copies sold) by the Recording Industry Association of America, closing in on the Eagles’ 1976 best-of set, currently certified 29 times platinum. … 50 Cent is getting closer to accepting 50 cents on the dollar for the suburban Connecticut mansion he’s trying to sell. The rapper initially listed the 50,000-square-foot, 19-bedroom, 37-bathroom palace at $18.5 million, dropped the price to $14.5 million late last year, and now is selling it for $10.9 million, according to The Associated Press.
