Rita E. Doherty,nee McTighe, 83, of Des Plaines passed away on Aug. 2, 2009, beloved wife of the late John J. for 49 years; loving mother of KathleenDoherty, James T. (Lynn) Doherty, Bridget (James) Platania and the late John J. Jr. and the late Maureen Doran; dearest daughter of the late Thomas and Blanche McTighe; cherished grandmother of John (Tammy) and Jennifer Doran, Brett(Melanie) Betchey, Brianna and JamesPlatania Jr., Kaitlin and Ann Doherty and Caitlin and Ryanne Doherty; dear great-grandmother of Spencer and Sara Betchey; fond cousin of Dolores Pierce.
Rita was a homemaker for most of her life and a graduate of Austin High School in Chicago.
