A day-to-day look at Cutler’s first training camp with the Bears.
For starters: Cutler made some solid throws Tuesday but was picked off by Brian Urlacher and Zack Bowman during 7-on-7 drills.
Red alert: By the Tribune’s count, Cutler completed 8-of-12 passes in 7-on-7 drills, then 10 of 12 when it went to full team. His last toss, however, was overthrown toward Devin Hester in the end zone with the offense starting from the 10.
Wild times: The Bears twice showed the “Wildcat” formation, with Cutler moving outside on both plays. No, he didn’t get a pass thrown his way. Matt Forte faked a handoff to Kevin Jones on one play and ran with it. On the other, Hester attempted a hurried pass to Brandon Rideau that fell well short. Leave the passing to Cutler.
Rex hex? Shortly after Cutler threw his second interception to Bowman, a fan yelled, “I thought we got rid of Rex Grossman.”
