* Heat advisory over much of Illinois. Chicago is expecting dangerous heat index values greater than 105 degrees. Individuals susceptible to heat should take appropriate precautions.
* Southwest winds gusting in excess of 25 m.p.h. will push hot, humid air into northeast Illinois. With mostly sunny skies, Chicago’s warmest temperatures and highest heat indexes may occur in the Loop and near the lake.
* The projected official high of 98 degrees at O’Hare would break the record high of 97 degrees set in 1913.
