*COLLEGE FOOTBALL: South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier said Bobby Bowden and the Seminoles should not have to give up 14 victories as part of the NCAA penalties because of an academic cheating scandal at Florida State. Spurrier also said Florida State’s track team should not lose its NCAA championships that took place during the time in question.

*NBA: Robert Dozier, the 6-foot-9-inch forward out of Memphis selected by the Heat with the final pick of the NBA draft, agreed to terms with a team in Greece. Dozier, who had been working out the past month in Miami after being taken with the No. 60 selection in June’s second round, has signed a one-year deal with Colossus Rhodes, a team in Greece’s first division.
