A day-to-day look at Jay Cutler’s first training camp with the Bears.

Going deep: Cutler aired the ball out, none prettier than a 40-yard hookup with Devin Hester under pressure in full-team drills. Hester made an over-the-shoulder catch in front of Nathan Vasher as Cutler placed it where only Hester could get it. Cutler completed 18-of-29 passes from 7-on-7 drills on, but those numbers were skewed by a handful of drops.

Fan participation: Cutler couldn’t connect with Greg Olsen on a deep ball down the left sideline because safety Al Afalava made contact with Olsen before the ball arrived. In unison, fans in one section motioned to throw the flag for pass interference.

Cut above: Uh-oh. The franchise is injured. Well, not exactly. Cutler said he cut his non-throwing hand a little bit Tuesday night and brushed it off as no big deal.
