Courteney Cox Arquette (left) is 45. Her husband, David Arquette, is 37. And she’s totally cool with being called a cougar.
“I’ve been blazing that trail for 10 years,” she told reporters at a Television Critics Association panel in California last week, according to accesshollywood.com.
“I think it’s great to be a cougar, if that’s what they’re called.” (It is.)
Cox Arquette was at the panel last Saturday to promote her new ABC show, “Cougar Town,” in which she plays — you guessed it — an older lady looking for a younger fella. The show follows the trials and tribulations associated with that kind of dating and marks a return to network TV for Cox Arquette, whose last projects were the short-lived FX drama “Dirt” and a recurring guest role on “Scrubs.” All this talk of her new show got RedEye thinking of other famous cougs who haven’t been afraid to flaunt the goods into their 40s and beyond.
