White Sox 8, Athletics 1: Jim Thome tied Reggie Jackson for 12th all-time with his 563rd home run. Jayson Nix homered and drove in three. Gavin Floyd struck out eight in seven innings.
Indians 7, Twins 3: Grady Sizemore and Shin-Soo Choo homered, and Jamie Carroll and Travis Hafner each had three hits.
Angels 5, Orioles 1: John Lackey allowed one run in seven innings and Chone Figgins had three hits, a walk and a stolen base. The Angels are 20-8 since the All-Star break.
Tigers 10, Royals 3: Carlos Guillen homered and drove in four runs and Miguel Cabrera had four hits and three RBIs in the Tigers third-straight win.
Rays 8, Blue Jays 3: Carl Crawford hit a two-run double during a four-run third and Scott Kazmir pitched 6 1/3 innings to snap a five-game losing streak.
Rangers 7, Red Sox 2: Julio Borbon had four hits and four of the Rangers eight stolen bases. Elvis Andrus added three steals. Ian Kinsler hit his 24th home runs.
Yankees at Mariners: Mark Teixeira hit his team-leading 30th home run Friday, a two-run shot in the ninth, to put the Yankees 30-games over .500.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Cubs 3, Pirates 1: Tom Gorzelanny pitched five innings against his old team for the win and Jeff Baker homered and had two RBIs. Pirates are 3-17 in their last 20 games.
Braves 4, Phillies 3: Omar Infante singled in Matt Diaz in the ninth to complete a two-run comeback off Brad Lidge, who blew his eighth save and fell to 0-5.
Giants 5, Mets 4: Bengie Molina homered in the top of the 10th, one of his three hits. Pablo Sandoval also had three hits and scored twice.
Brewers 6, Astros 2: Craig Counsell had three hits and drove in three runs, and the Brewers won three straight for first time since mid-June.
Nationals 10, Reds 6: Elijah Dukes had two hits and three RBIs and Adam Dunn hit his 31st homer of the season.
Cardinals 7, Padres 4: Matt Holliday hit a two-run homer, and Joel Pineiro extended his winning streak to five. Holliday is batting .475 with five homers and 22 RBIs in 20 games with the Cardinals.
Dodgers at Diamondbacks: Dodgers pitcher Hiroki Kuroda was carted off the field after being hit by a line drive in the head. He raised both of his arms as the cart rolled off the field, and was taken to a for tests.
Rockies at Marlins, ppd. : Rain forced the two teams to play a doubleheader Sunday.
