Red Sox 14, Yankees 1: Kevin Youkilis homered twice and tied a career high with six RBIs as Boston broke a five-game skid against New York. David Ortiz and Alex Gonzalez also homered.
White Sox 4, Orioles 1: Carlos Quentin homered while John Danks overcame six walks in 6 1/3 innings to post his 11th victory of the season for Chicago.
Rays 5, Rangers 4: Carlos Pena homered twice and drove in the winning run on a single in the 10th inning as Tampa Bay won for the sixth time in seven games.
Indians 4, Mariners 3: Luis Valbuena homered off Randy Messenger in the 11th to win it for Cleveland. Russell Branyan hit a two-run homer for Seattle.
Twins 8, Royals 7: Jason Kubel had a two-run double and an RBI single and Michael Cuddyer added a homer as Minnesota won for the fourth time in five games.
Athletics 3, Tigers 2: Kurt Suzuki’s line-drive single off Zach Miner scored Adam Kennedy in the ninth inning for Oakland, which ended a three-game skid.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Dodgers 2, Cubs 0: Charlie Haeger scattered three hits in seven innings for his first win since 2006 with the White Sox. Matt Kemp and Casey Blake homered.
Braves 4, Marlins 3: Omar Infante and Yunel Escobar homered in a four-run first inning for Atlanta. Hanley Ramirez’s 16-game hitting streak ended.
Astros 4, Diamondbacks 2: During its six-game losing streak, Arizona is hitting .177 while averaging 2.0 runs. Houston’s bullpen has a 1.32 ERA in the last five games.
Pirates 12, Reds 2: Ryan Doumit homered and drove in three and Garrett Jones also had three RBIs as Pittsburgh won its season-best fifth consecutive game.
Phillies 4, Mets 1: Chase Utley hit a two-run homer and rookie J.A. Happ allowed one run on eight hits in seven innings for his 10th win for Philadelphia.
Rockies 14, Giants 11: Ian Stewart homered and drove in four runs and Todd Helton also hit a homer as Colorado rallied from a 6-1 deficit. Ryan Garko homered twice for San Francisco.
Brewers 11, Nationals 9: Casey McGehee’s RBI single snapped an 8-8 tie in the sixth for Milwaukee. Mike Cameron homered and drove in three.
Cardinals 7, Padres 0: Matt Holliday cracked a three-run homer in the first and Chris Carpenter gave up three hits in seven innings for his 14th victory.
