John M. “Buzz” Basano, 86, of Jackson, GA, died July 28, 2009 of prostate cancer.
Born on Chicago’s South Side, a U.S. Navy Veteran, owned the Basano Realty Co and Insurance Agency in Roseland for 30 years.
President of the Kensington Civic Assn (Motto: Problems are best solved when surrounded by good food and good company.), and retired from 22 years at Chicago’s Water Filtration Plant.
He worked hard, was a golfer, fisherman and good friend.
He moved to Daytona Beach Shores in 1997 with wife, Elvira, who passed away on April 3, 2001.
Survived by daughters Mary Frances Basano, Marcia Kowske (James) and Annette Cook (Don); grandsons, Christopher (Kelly) andMatthew Kowske; and great-grandchildren, Alayna and Lukas Kowske.
A graveside service will be held on Sept.
14 in Benton, IL, where he will be interred next to his beloved wife of 53 years.
