Rays 3, Tigers 1: David Price allowed one run on five hits in 7 1/3 innings to win for the first time in eight road starts this season. Carlos Pena had a key two-out RBI single in a two-run third.
Rangers 3, Twins 0: Scott Feldman scattered four hits in 5 2/3 innings as he improved to 10-1 on the road. Josh Hamilton’s RBI double keyed a two-run first.
Red Sox 3, Blue Jays 2: Clay Buchholz allowed one run in 8 1/3 innings with nine strikeouts. Alex Gonzalez and Dustin Pedroia had RBI singles in a two-run sixth.
Indians 5, Orioles 3: Andy Marte hit a three-run homer and Jhonny Peralta had a solo shot for Cleveland. Chad Moeller homered for Baltimore.
Athletics 4, Angels 3: Eric Patterson scored the go-ahead on Daric Barton’s groundout in the eighth as Oakland rallied. Maicer Izturis homered for the Angels.
Mariners 8, Royals 4: Jack Hannahan, Rob Johnson and Jose Lopez each homered for Seattle, which earned its fifth victory in six games.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Cubs 11, Mets 4: Jake Fox hit a tie-breaking grand slam in a six-run fifth to lift Chicago. Ryan Dempster struck out seven in six innings for his second straight win.
Dodgers 11, Reds 4: Manny Ramirez hit one of his team’s four homers, snapping Cincinnati’s five- game win streak. Rafael Furcal hit a tie-breaking solo shot in the fifth.
Padres 7, Marlins 4: Tony Gwynn’s two-run triple in the eighth broke a 4-4 tie for San Diego. Ronny Paulino had a homer and three RBIs for Florida.
Cardinals 9, Nationals 4: St. Louis has a 2.88 ERA in its last 29 games, in which the Cardinals are 22-7. Albert Pujols is hitting .212 in his last 10 games.
Brewers 7, Pirates 3: Jody Gerut’s RBI double snapped a tie in the sixth inning as Milwaukee won its 20th straight at Miller Park against Pittsburgh.
Diamondbacks 9, Astros 0: Mark Reynolds hit his 40th homer and Jon Garland scattered five hits in seven innings for Arizona. Justin Upton also homered.
Braves 9, Phillies 1: Garret Anderson hit a three-run homer in a five-run fourth to lead Atlanta in a game shortened by rain. Cliff Lee suffered his first loss in the NL.
Giants 5, Rockies 3: Barry Zito allowed one run on eight hits in 8 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts and Pablo Sandoval homered as San Francisco pulled within one game of Colorado in the NL wild-card race.
