After their eighth loss in the last nine games, the Sox announced Monday that they had traded DH Jim Thome and cash to the Dodgers for Class A infielder Justin Fuller. Pitcher Jose Contreras and cash were sent to the Rockies for Triple-A righty Brandon Hynick.

The Cubs never really came close to trading Rich Harden to Minnesota, General Manager Jim Hendry suggested before Monday night’s game against Houston.
“It was the biggest non-story of that big of magnitude,” Hendry said.
