Jordan is named NBA rookie of the year after averaging 28.2 points.

Jordan wins the first of his 10 NBA scoring titles (37.1 points per game). He would go on to win the award the next six seasons.

Jordan scores 30 points with 10 assists and five steals as the Bulls defeat the Lakers 108-101 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals for his first title.
