Perez, Benz combine to pour it on in second half
No. 1 Maine South 50, Highland Park 12: The Maine South duo of RB Matt Perez and QB Tyler Benz was too much for Highland Park to handle in the second half. Highland Park trailed 13-7 at halftime. But Perez scored two touchdowns — one on a 30-yard run and the other on a 75-yard punt return — and Benz threw a 60-yard touchdown pass to WR Imran Khan to quickly put the game away.

No. 17 Cary-Grove 60, Woodstock 6: Cary-Grove set the tone by scoring 53 seconds into the contest on a 48-yard TD run by senior RB Alex Hembrey. The Trojans went on to score on their first seven possessions.

De La Salle 41, Leo 0: De La Salle senior running back Mark Kasper, a three-year starter, rushed for 196 yards and three TDs. De La Salle limited the Lions to 82 yards of total offense.
