The approval rating, for politicians, is like the vote without an election, a measure of the level of regard the public has for their achievements. And right now, they aren’t impressing. With the economy in trouble and Illinois politics in its usual state of nepotism, cronyism and crisis, nobody, it seems, likes anybody very much. Here we examine some of the causes and cures for five current or recent politicians suffering from their lowest-ever public approval ratings.
