Paula Abdul donned a short blond wig and a menswear-style suit while hosting her “American Idol” consolation prize — “VH1 Divas” — in New York last week. She was channeling “Idol’s” newest judge, Ellen DeGeneres. Just like Ellen awkwardly dances her way down the aisles while taping her talk show, Paula boogied around the auditorium before plopping down in an armchair not unlike those on the “Ellen” set. To be fair, Paula did wish her replacement good luck at the end of the routine, but we couldn’t help but sense a little twinge of regret under her smiling face. So what else could we do but force the two hostesses to go head-to-head in a RedEye faceoff?
