Tigers 6, Twins 5: Granderson and Miguel Cabrera homered and Brandon Inge added a two-run single as Detroit earned the split.
Rays 3, Orioles 1: Wade Davis gave up one run on seven hits in seven innings as the rookie earned his second win against the O’s in 12 days. Baltimore has lost 12 in a row.
Blue Jays 8, Red Sox 7: Adam Lind hit three homers and drove in four runs as Toronto cracked six homers. Boston scored five in the eighth, but the rally fell short.
Yankees 4, Royals 3: Juan Miranda’s RBI single off Kyle Farnsworth capped a two-run rally in the ninth inning for New York. Mark Teixeira hit his 39th homer.
Rangers at Angels: Sean O’Sullivan made a spot start in place Scott Kazmir for the Angels. Scott Feldman sought his 18th win for Texas, which has lost 11 of 17.
Athletics at Mariners: Seattle starter Felix Hernandez has gone 5-0 with a 1.57 ERA in his last six outings. Oakland entered Tuesday 17-8 in September.
White Sox at Indians: The game was postponed and rescheduled as a doubleheader Wednesday.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Nationals 4, Mets 3: Justin Maxwell scored the go-ahead on Luis Castillo’s throwing error in the eighth inning for Washington. Ian Desmond hit a two-run homer.
Reds 7, Cardinals 2: Jay Bruce smacked two homers and drove in five to help Homer Bailey beat St. Louis for the first time in five career starts.
Phillies 7, Astros 4: Pedro Feliz hit a grand slam and Jayson Werth added a two-run shot for Philadelphia. Lance Berkman and Kaz Matsui homered for Houston.
Marlins 5, Braves 4: Jorge Cantu’s RBI single in the seventh broke a 4-4 tie to lift Florida, which got homers from Dan Uggla and Cameron Maybin.
Cubs 6, Pirates 0: Ryan Dempster pitched a five-hit shutout to earn his 11th win. Derrek Lee, Micah Hoffpauir and Jeff Baker each drove in two runs.
Brewers at Rockies: Colorado has won 10 of its last 13 games against Milwaukee. The Brewers are 3-0 when rookie Chris Narveson starts.
Dodgers at Padres: Los Angeles’ Rafael Furcal hit .396 with two homers during an 11-game hitting streak. Cesar Ramos made his first big league start for San Diego.
Diamondbacks at Giants: Jonathan Sanchez is 1-0 with a 1.98 ERA in two home starts against Arizona this season. Juan Uribe is batting .418 in his last 14 games.
