The percentage of Americans who, according to a recent Pew Research survey, believe there is “solid evidence” of global warming. That is down from 71 percent who held that view in April 2008. Researchers did not identify any single factor responsible for the decline but suggest there may be a range of possible explanations, including the cooler-than-normal summer experienced in some parts of the United States.
