– GOLF: Ross Fisher beat Masters champion Angel Cabrera on the third playoff hole Saturday to set up a World Match Play Championship final against Anthony Kim in Casares, Spain. Kim advanced by beating Robert Allenby 5 and 4. Kim rallied from an early two-hole deficit, pulling away at the 27th hole when he holed an approach from 101 yards. … Joey Sindelar withdrew from the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Sonoma, Calif., and was taken to a hospital after complaining of dizziness during the third round. According to a spokesman, Sindelar became dizzy after playing the fourth hole. John Cook shot a 5-under 67 to take a six-stroke lead. Cook’s lead is the largest after three rounds on the Champions Tour since Jay Haas had a six-stroke lead in 2005. … Ian Poulter, five strokes ahead after completing a second-round 64 in the morning, fell to 8 under before thunderstorms stopped play in the Singapore Open. – TENNIS: Venus Williams defeated Jelena Jankovic 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 in one semifinal at the Sony Ericsson Championships. Serena Williams won the other when Caroline Wozniacki quit because of an abdominal injury while trailing 6-4, 0-1. Serena, who secured the year-end No. 1 ranking this week, is returning to the final of the WTA Tour’s season-ending championships for the first time since 2004. … Top-seeded Marin Cilic of Croatia and Jurgen Melzer of Austria won semifinal matches and will play for the BA Tennis Trophy title in Vienna. … Ivan Ljubicic defeated Arnaud Clement 6-2, 6-4 to reach the final of the Lyon Grand Prix, where he’ll play wild card Michael Llodra.

– SOCCER: Robbie Findley scored in the 88th minute to give Real Salt Lake a 1-0 win over the defending MLS Cup champion Columbus Crew in the first leg of the two-game playoff series.

– AUTO RACING: Kyle Busch got a generous bump from teammate Aric Almirola a few hundred yards from the finish to win the NASCAR Camping World Trucks race at Talladega Superspeedway. Busch and Almirola pulled wide behind leader Todd Bodine on the final lap and Almirola nudged Busch’s No. 51 Toyota to the front. They overtook Bodine just before the finish line in the fading daylight at the massive 2.66-mile oval. … McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton put in a stunning final lap in qualifying to claim the pole position for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Hamilton was trailing the Red Bull drivers entering his last lap, but then circled the new Yas Marina circuit in 1 minute, 40.948 seconds to beat Sebastian Vettel.
