Do you long for the sea? Illinois dwellers don’t exactly have the luxury of lounging seaside on the beach. While Lake Michigan offers locals an extraordinary opportunity to head off on a sailboat or engage in a sand volleyball league, staring out at the lake’s flapping waves doesn’t hold a candle to gazing into the vast infiniteness of the ocean. Those eager to fall victim to the siren call of a massive body of water will delight in the music of Bounding Main. The sextet specializes in sea chanteys and maritime songs. The group’s intricate harmonies and old-fashioned nautical costumes will entice even the staunchest landlubber. 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Skokie Theatre Music Foundation, 7924 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie; $20 advance, $25 at the door; 847-677-7781 or skokietheatre.com
