Jeff Zimmerman was 3-for-4 with two home runs including a grand slam, and five RBIs for Andrew (4-1). Vince Paris also had a home run and three RBIs in the win.

Carlos Olavarria was 4-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and four runs, Dan Savas was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and Dom Messina was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for Leyden. Jeremy Stawychny was the winning pitcher and also drove in three runs.

Billy Liss had a triple and an RBI for Manteno. Catcher Kody Shields had two hits and three RBIs in the win.

Winning pitcher Ryan Kohs (1-0) allowed three hits and struck out seven in five innings. Mike Barajas was 4-for-4 with a home run and two doubles and Anthony Baldassano was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Nazareth (4-0).

Joe Brochu struck out 10 in his complete-game win for Northridge. John Sander was 3-for-4 with four RBIs at the plate for the Knights.

Sophomore Alec Beard threw five innings and struck out nine to give Woodstock North (1-2) their first varsity baseball win in school history. Dustin Kroening was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs and Tyler Loesher was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for the Thunder.

Kelly Crowley was 1-for-3 with an RBI for De La Salle (4-1). Jackie Sernek earned the complete-game victory, scattering five hits and striking out eight.

Danielle Trezzo had a game-winning, two-out single in the top of the tenth inning to earn Downers Grove South a season-opening win. Jenny Nichols had a three-run home run for the Mustangs (1-0) in the fourth inning.

Jenna Marsalli was 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored for Neuqua Valley (2-2). Leigh Nebendahl was perfect at the plate, hitting four singles and scoring three times for the Wildcats.

Emily Norton had two doubles and three RBIs and also earned the win on the mound for Oak Forest (5-1, 5-0). Kristyne Smyth also had two doubles.

Plainfield Central’s Olivia Scorr was 2-for-3 with two home runs and Rachel Egly added another homer in game one. Ashley Seering was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, two stolen bases and an RBI for St. Charles North (1-1) in game two. Plainfield Central is now 3-1 on the year.

Reavis’s Caitlyn Balandis threw a complete-game, striking out 13. Sarah Saunders had the game-winning RBI on a two-out single in the bottom of the fifth inning. Reavis is now 4-4 overall and 4-1 in conference.
